inkVault

About the Project

Design a brand and user experience for inkVault, a digital library for book lovers to organise their collection and find something new to read.

I wanted to create an experience that made organising books feel simple and enjoyable, rather than like another task to keep track of. The project allowed me to explore both the branding and digital experience, thinking about how the visual identity could carry through into the interface and create something that felt welcoming, easy to use and made for people who love books.

The Design Process

The app recognises the books users already own, including their exact editions and covers, while also allowing them to compare different versions, special editions and prices. I wanted the experience of finding, organising and comparing books to feel simple, cohesive and enjoyable, rather than overwhelming.

I started by looking into how book collectors organise their collections and search for new editions, special covers and better prices. This led me to the idea of inkVault — your own little personal library that knows exactly what you have and helps you discover what you don’t.

From there, I developed the brand identity and began bringing it into the app. I explored the user experience through wireframes and UI design in Adobe XD, focusing on how the different features could work together to make browsing and managing a collection feel easy and intuitive.
